CM: Fiorentina start ‘first contacts’ with Milan midfield target – the details

By Ben Dixon -

AC Milan are looking to bolster their midfield in the summer mercato, and a report has suggested that they could lose out on one of their targets, with a Serie A rival beginning talks with him.

Whilst Milan are going all-out to sign Youssouf Fofana, he is not the only player that is being looked at to strengthen the midfield, and it seems the Rossoneri are looking to add another midfielder on top of the Frenchman.

Adrien Rabiot has been the name alongside Fofana, but in recent days, the name of Richard Rios has been gaining popularity, especially after a very positive Copa America campaign, where he looks set to earn a place in the Team of the Tournament.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, his name was on the Diavolo’s list before the start of the tournament, but he also featured on the list of Fiorentina, and in recent days, the Viola have stepped up their pursuit of him, whilst Milan pursue other names.

Before the tournament, it was believed he could be available for a fee of €20 million, but after a massively impressive tournament, it is believed he could cost €30m now, and Fiorentina have ‘started the first contacts’ with his agents, as they look to make a move.

  1. As yes, as everyone knows, the best time to buy players is after they have a handful of strong games in a national side with completely different tactical setups

    1. Mario has Milan signed anyone yet?
Sorry I guess they are listening to Mr Costacurta and waiting for everyone else to snatch the good ones first?
