CM: Ibrahimovic’s future could change as Gazidis overrules Boban and Maldini

By Isak Möller -

The chaos at AC Milan continues, now worse than ever after Zvone Boban’s hard-hitting comments yesterday (read here). With Ivan Gazidis more and more in charge, the Rossoneri’s mercato plans could drastically change.

Begovic, Kjaer and Ibrahimovic are the three elements of experience that AC Milan signed in January, which gave Pioli greater consistency and more certainties. Three operations that hardly would have been done without Boban and Paolo Maldini.

Currently, the two are working to extend the contract of the Swedish international for one more year. However, it’s a move the evidently doesn’t meet the demands of Gazidis, who is more inclined to carry on the youth project dictated by Elliott.

As Calciomercato.com continues, the former Arsenal director wants to bring in Ralf Rangnick for the role as manager and sporting director, as he would fit the youth project perfectly.

In the summer, therefore, the Rossoneri could be forced to make new plans and in those, the three players mentioned above might not be included. Ibrahimovic’s future with the club is thus at risk.
