CM.it: Caldara, Laxalt, Conti and Pobega – the latest on the future of each Milan loanee

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan risk missing out on collecting very useful money from sales as three players could return from loans at the end of the season.

According to Calciomercato.it, the trio of Maldini, Massara and Gazidis are occupied with the negotiations regarding the renewals of Gigio Donnarumma, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hakan Calhanoglu, but the management are also eagerly awaiting news regarding the players on loan.

The most delicate situation is the one surrounding Mattia Caldara, on loan at Atalanta with a €15m option to by that can be used this summer. He has only eight appearances so far this season for a total of 113 minutes played and Atalanta seem unlikely to use their buy-out option, so another solution will have to be found if they don’t.

Meanwhile, Andrea Conti moved to Parma on loan with an option to buy set at €7-8m that will become an obligation if they achieve survival. It is a complicated situation for D’Aversa’s team, so the Rossoneri will have to wait to see if they will collect that sum.

Diego Laxalt is currently on loan at Celtic, who seemed ready to put €7million on the table to buy him permanently, but the season has become complicated due to a change in coach. More updates are awaited regarding his situation.

Finally, Tommaso Pobega is currently on loan at Spezia and has done superbly so far. The player moved on loan with the option to buy and a buy-back in Milan’s favour, and the report concludes by claiming that Pobega will almost certainly be at Milanello again next summer.
