CM: Kjaer’s return important but Milan still need a centre-back – the names

By Isak Möller -

Simon Kjaer will start pre-season with the rest of the AC Milan squad on Monday, having recovered from the serious knee injury he sustained last year. However, it doesn’t change the Rossoneri’s plans on the mercato.

The Danish international sustained a serious knee injury in the game against Genoa last year, more specifically in December, and he has been recovering since. He’s now considered ready, though, and will be present for the start of the pre-season.

Kjaer is an important leader for the team and although his condition remains to be examined (post-serious injury), Milan are happy about his return. With that said, as reported by Calciomercato.com, they still need a centre-back amid the exits of Alessio Romagnoli and Matteo Gabbia.

After missing out on the expensive target, Sven Botman, Milan are eyeing cheaper solutions such as Abduo Diallo (PSG, €15m) and Piero Hincapié (Bayer Leverkusen). There are more names on the list, per the report, but this is the kind of profile the Rossoneri will make a move for.

  1. Josip Šutalo had a promising season for Dinamo Zagreb and played amazing for Croatia against France. His price is probably 6 mil as well
