Mike Maignan is currently on vacation after reaching the semis of the Euros with France, but he will soon be back at Milanello. According to a report, AC Milan have also scheduled a meeting to discuss a renewal with his entourage.
Maignan showed his qualities with France at the Euros and many consider him to be the best goalkeeper in the world. Milan were very impressed with him, even if it was expected, and are now ready to offer a sizeable pay rise.
Calciomercato.com are reporting that while Maignan is currently on a well-deserved vacation, he will soon be back in training with the team. The goalkeeper might not make it for the pre-season tour in the US but, in any case, he will soon be fully focused on Milan.
Currently on a salary of €2.8m per year, Milan have scheduled a meeting to discuss the renewal upon his return. The current contract will expire in 2026 and while he will absolutely remain this summer, the Rossoneri need to protect themselves for the future.
A big pay rise is on the cards for the Frenchman and as reported by the same source earlier, the feeling is now that he will accept the proposal offer. Or at the very least that a compromise will be found.
