CM: Milan’s advantage over Barcelona and Real Madrid in Guler pursuit

By Isak Möller -

Arda Guler has ended up on the radar of AC Milan, as well as several big European clubs, and the pursuit has become rather difficult for the Rossoneri. However, they still have one advantage, a report claims.

At the age of 18, Guler has already made 51 appearances for Fenerbahce’s first team, finding the back of the net six times and assisting an additional seven goals this past season. Earlier this week, he also scored his first goal for Turkey with a great strike.

In short, it’s not strange that many big teams are after him and as reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan are indeed in the race. They are willing to pay the €17.5m release clause but the problem is that four-five teams have the same stance.

Furthermore, Guler’s entourage (his family) is currently asking for a high commission and that makes a swift agreement difficult, as the report continues.

Milan do have an advantage over Barcelona and Real Madrid, though, as the Spanish sides want to send out Guler on loan immediately. The Rossoneru, however, could give him a starting role.

  1. He will go to Barcelona or Madrid. Usually that is how it ends with young players, can anyone remember the last player that rejected them and joined Milan? Most other media is reporting that Barcelona is the closest to signing him….

    1. None of those clubs want him. They have more ambitious targets. Barca have signed Gundogan and they’re still broke. Real Madrid? Why would they want a Turkish midget when they have a Spanish midget?

    2. yes, i can remember. hachim mastour rejected everyone and joined us. It didnt work out very well. He’ll probably go to barcelona

  2. Aww yisss, after the complete dismantling of our midfield that’s exactly what we need, an unproven youngster who’s not very good at defending, exactly what Pioli loves.

  3. We dont’ need another “maybe future great player that comes from a weaker champ” to take a starting post in this Milan, we need more certainties and not another bet.

Maybe he’ll become a better player than Kamada in the future but for now the Japanese bring more qualities, that’s what we need.

Güler balled in a champ where Icardi, Biglia or even Borini are considered gods. Not saying he’ll necessarily flop or he’s not good but we have to take that in mind.

  4. I would fly Pioli over to Turkey, or fly the pkayer over to Italy in a private jet and speak to him directly on the project, his role and the future. Pay his family what they want and lock him for 5 years at least with a release clause of 120M+

If you do that you see how fast this gets closed and we get a steal of the decade. This kid is good.

same story here with thuram few weeks ago, said Milan have more advantage than psg /other clubs, but we already know what happen.

some people also said that we dodged a bullet for not signing thuram, maybe right maybe not.
i also really don’t know if he’s gonna be a good striker for Milan or not.
but he’s furlani-moncada 1st target this window, and inter can snatch him less than 24 hours under their nose after they make efforts to sign him for 20 days, says a lot.

  6. Milan’s ‘advantage’ is that none of the big clubs want or need him and Turkish league players have a bad track record. Remember Chengiz Under or the defender Juve signed?
