CM: Milan could get discount in January deal for Lyon star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could be able to use the will of Memphis Depay to their advantage should they return for him in January, a report claims.

A report from Calciomercato.com reported that Depay was being considered by Milan as a potential alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa during the summer window.

His agents visited Casa Milan in August to talk to the Rossoneri leadership, but nothing really came of the meeting and he has ended up remaining at Lyon.

Depay has started the season well, netting four goals in as many league games, and according to the latest from Calciomercato.com he could be a January target.

The former Manchester United and PSV forward does not want to renew his contract with Lyon, which expires in 2021.

The report adds that Depay’s name has ‘long been in Milan’s notebook’ but due to the €60million asking price they never managed to come close.

However, the player’s will could be key if a return is made in January.
