CM: Two Milan forwards locked in battle for Lecce start and Rossoneri future

By Euan Burns -

Ante Rebic and Divock Origi are both battling to not only start for AC Milan against Lecce on Sunday, but also to try and ensure the club keeps them around next season, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the two attackers have both struggled to make much impact for Milan this season and are at risk of not being at the club next season.

Given Milan are trying to add a forward to the squad in the summer, they cannot keep both Rebic and Origi as there will be too many similar players to keep paying.

There is a chance that Stefano Pioli will rest Olivier Giroud against Lecce on Sunday which means one of Rebic and Origi will start up front. That will be a golden chance to impress the coach and show why they should be kept in the summer, and why the other should be finding a new club.
