AC Milan intend to begin concrete negotiations with Franck Kessie over the extension of his contract soon, according to a report.
In addition to captain Alessio Romagnoli (read about him here), Davide Calabria and Kessie will expire in the summer of 2022. Speaking on our podcast, Fabrizio Romano shared some details about the duo and the renewal talks surrounding them, confirming his belief that there have been some talks initiated.
According to the latest update from Calciomercato.com, there have already been initial contacts between the Ivorian midfielder’s agent George Atangana and Milan’s technical director Paolo Maldini.
During these discussions, it was agreed that the parties would enter into negotiations for the renewal of his contract expiring in 2022 at the beginning of March, so in the next two weeks we can perhaps expect an acceleration.
Kessie has become a key part of Milan’s post-lockdown resurgence, forming half of an impressive double pivot alongside Ismael Bennacer.
