CM: Milan identify four alternatives to Ibrahimovic; axis with Mendes open

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have other targets in mind if they fail to land Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January transfer window, according to a report.

A lot of the recent speculation surrounding Milan’s mercato has been centered around a return for Ibrahimovic, and Calciomercato.com have offered an update on the situation.

They claim that the Swede is Milan’s main objective for January, something which Zvonimir Boban clearly reiterated this to Mino Raiola during Wednesday’s meeting at Casa Milan, which lasted less than an hour.

Zlatan is considered the only one able to change the direction of a so far disastrous season, possessing ‘the charisma, the class and the experience necessary to try to transform a group without personality’.

The offer is that of an 18-month contract but there is still distance on the figures, and the 38-year-old is yet to decide on his future.

Alternatives

Milan are determined to sign a striker for Stefano Pioli in the upcoming window, the report claims, so other avenues are being explored in case Ibra says no.

Everton’s Moise Kean was offered to Milan by Mino Raiola, even if at the moment Everton are not sure of his exit and Roma are providing competition.

Real Madrid duo Mariano Diaz and Brahim Diaz are mentioned as possible options, while a €15m bid for San Lorenzo striker Adolfo Gaich is being weighed up.

However, Boban is also in contact with Jorge Mendes to discuss possibilities in the English and Spanish market, the report concludes.
