CM: Milan may rekindle interest in Lyon star Memphis Depay this summer; Lazio also keen

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could think about trying to sign Lyon winger Memphis Depay in the summer transfer window, according to a report.

A report from Calciomercato.com claimed that Depay was being considered by Milan as a potential alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa during the summer window last year.

His agents visited Casa Milan in August to talk to the Rossoneri leadership, but nothing really came of the meeting and he has ended up remaining at Lyon.

According to what Calciomercato.com are reporting, Depay could be one of the protagonists of the summer transfer window despite the cruciate ligament injury he suffered late last year.

With his contract due to expire in 2021, the Dutchman ‘may return to fashion for Serie A clubs’, with the report suggesting that Milan could rekindle their interest but that Lazio may also go in for him.

Prior to his injury the 26-year-old had been in red hot form for the Ligue 1 side, netting 14 goals and amassing two assists in 18 appearances across the league and Champions League.
