CM: Milan remain in the hunt but Arsenal and Bayern Munich lead chase for €60m defender

AC Milan are still in the hunt to land RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano this summer, according to a report.

It was reported by SportMediaset earlier in the month that Upamecano is part of a six-man wish list that Ralf Rangnick has identified ahead of potentially accepting a role at Milan this summer.

It has been claimed by a number of outlets that Upamecano has a €60m release clause, something which is attracting a number of clubs after an impressive season in which he has racked up 30 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.

Bayern Munich have also been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old, as have Arsenal, while Bild recent reported that Leipzig are set to lower their demands from €60m to €40m due to the effects of the Coronavirus on football finances.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan remain in the race to land the France U21 international as they are looking to bolster their ranks by signing a partner for Alessio Romagnoli this summer.

However, they are on the ‘second row’ of suitors at present, with the aforementioned duo Arsenal and Bayern currently leading the charge.
