CM: Milan schedule summit with Calhanoglu’s agent – the details of the renewal

By Isak Möller -

Having renewed the contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan are now ready to focus on another contract situation, more specifically that of Hakan Calhanoglu. The next few days could be decisive for his renewal, a report claims.

The Turkish international is the new priority for the Rossoneri, considering how important he is in Stefano Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 formation. According to Calciomercato.com, the player’s agent, Gordon Stipic, will arrive in Italy for a meeting this upcoming week.

Calhanoglu’s contract will expire in 2021 and this is why Milan and the player want to secure a renewal agreement. This will be essential for the Rossoneri as some Bundesliga clubs have shown their interest in the 26-year-old.

The idea is to extend the contract until 2024 with an adjustment to his salary, which currently is €2.5m per year. In addition to the pay rise, a release clause could also be included in the new deal. After Ibra, therefore, the focus is on Calhanoglu.
