CM: Milan could send disappointing midfielder back to Chelsea early – the situation

By Isak Möller -

Tiemoue Bakayoko arrived at AC Milan ahead of the season on a two-year loan, hoping to once again revive his career with the Rossoneri. However, thus far, it has been a very disappointing loan spell for the midfielder.

This season, he has made 17 appearances for the club and only five from start. He had a huge opportunity to show his qualities in January due to the AFCON absence of Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie, but he failed then as well.

After playing the games against Venezia and Spezia from start to finish, Stefano Pioli opted to start Rade Krunic instead for the game against Juventus. According to Calciomercato.com, Bakayoko’s future is indeed in doubt.

There have been rumours suggesting he could move to Spain, which is an option that could become relevant in case Milan decide to end the loan early (in the summer), per the report.

It should be noted that the likes of Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega will return to Milan from their loans in the summer, making competition even tougher for the midfield tandem.

  1. I guess Adli and Pobega share a similar role, so it is a surprise he was signed up for two years. He seems like he needs a consistent first team run somewhere though, can’t blame him for being short on match fitness but might not be the best fit for the current team at the moment

    1. i would still prefer krunic though.

bakayoko is so prone to errors, and krunic can play upfront, mark, pass, and also casue a goal or score himself.

bakayoko should pack his bag, please.
