CM: Milan ‘waiting for a signal’ from Chelsea as midfielder wants to return

By Isak Möller -

Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market and with several positions to fill, they are keeping their eyes open. By the looks of it, Tiemoue Bakayoko could perhaps make a return to the club this summer.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, positive contacts took place between the agents of Bakaytoko and Paolo Maldini ten days ago. The latter confirmed that Milan are interested as long as there are favourable conditions.

The idea is to sign the now 26-year-old for a small fee as his contract with Chelsea will expire in 2022. The English side could decide to activate a one-year renewal, just like they did with Olivier Giroud, but the player doesn’t want to stay.

Bakayoko has made it very clear that he wants a Milan return and is now waiting on developments. The Rossoneri, meanwhile, are still ‘waiting for a signal’ from Chelsea as the negotiations are at a very early stage.
