CM: Milan willing to spend €5m to secure services of Atalanta star this summer

By Isak Möller -

Milan could part ways with Hakan Calhanoglu at the end of June and they would thus need to sign a replacement. Several names have been mentioned and Josip Ilicic is one of them, who can also play on the right flank.

The Slovenian international isn’t considered a first choice by the Rossoneri, due to his age of 33, but he could be a low-cost opportunity. According to Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are eyeing a Papu Gomez-esque deal.

That is, they would be willing to pay around €5m to Atalanta to secure the services of Ilicic this summer. However, it all depends on the renewal of Calhanoglu and what will happen with their other targets, such as Rodrigo De Paul.

Either way, it’s clear that Milan are looking to reinforce their squad this summer to be able to compete at the highest level. Not just in the league, to fight for the Scudetto, but also in the Champions League.

  1. Play on the right without any pace? That wouldn’t work for Milan. Atalanta play a different style.

    5m isn’t much though.

  2. Illicic ideal to unlock those defensive teams that always cause us a lot of problem,de paul or dybala for ofensive midfield to replace calhanoglu. Then ikone/berardi for right wing..

  3. It could be a good signing if Milan can sign some young and quick targets also in these positions. He has alot of experience and he has played in champions league and if 5mil then he is cheap
