Milan are keen on securing the signing of Olivier Giroud as soon as possible, with new contacts expected today. The French striker is currently focused on the Euros but his agents are working on the future.
According to Calciomercato.com, a new summit is expected between Milan and the entourage of Giroud. They will try to understand how quickly the operation can be closed and what the stance of Chelsea is.
The renewal shouldn’t be a problem as the English side only did that to prevent the striker from joining a Premier League rival. Milan already have an agreement with the player on the basis of a two-year deal worth €4m per season, including bonuses.
The one thing that remains is thus freeing Giroud from Chelsea, which is the agents’ responsibility. In the meantime, Giroud is fighting to get playing time for the French national team, now harder with Karim Benzema back.
