CM: Parma keen on Milan defender after failed January attempt – their plan

Matteo Gabbia continues to be linked with a move this summer, having done well in the four appearances he got just before the Coronavirus stop. Therefore, his future remains uncertain and suitors won’t give up.

According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, the young centre-back came close to joining Parma in January. The Tardini side had reached an agreement with Milan and the player before everything changed in the last minute.

Zvone Boban and Paolo Maldini decided to keep Gabbia due to some injuries in his position and the sale of Mattia Caldara to Atalanta. In February, the 20-year-old signed a renewal with the until 2024 as the Rossoneri believe in him a lot.

However, Parma haven’t lost hope and are still aiming to sign Gabbia ahead of next season. The idea is to sign him on loan with an option to buy and unlike Milan, they can offer consistent playing time with the first team.
