CM: Pursuit of Napoli star Insigne ‘a possibility’ for Milan – the factors at play

By Oliver Fisher -

It appears that the potential signing of Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli is not a fantasy after all as his future is uncertain, a report claims.

It is now seemingly common knowledge that Milan are in the market for a new winger and there are seemingly none better than Insigne in Serie A at the moment. Di Marzio reported yesterday how a one-hour meeting was staged at Casa Milan today between the Rossoneri management and Vincenzo Pisacane, the agent of Insigne.

According to what Daniele Longo has reported on his Instagram live (via AC Milan FR), there’s ‘a possibility’ that Milan could sign Insigne this summer as he is a profile that the management admire a lot. However, the operation is difficult because the Italy international is very attached to Naples and earns €5m net per season.

It remains to be seen if Milan are interested given how much he earns and whether they would be willing to offer him a salary similar or even higher. We also need to understand the intensions of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis regarding a renewal.
