Simon Kjaer

CM: Serie B side ask Milan about signing Kjaer – the response

AC Milan have received another expression of interest in Simon Kjaer which they have again rebuffed, this time coming from a team in Serie B.

Calciomercato.com reported earlier in the week that the Genoa management want to give Alberto Gilardino a new centre-back after his side were torn apart by a ruthless Fiorentina side in the first game of their return to Serie A.

The man that they had chosen – for his experience and his leadership – was Kjaer. However, the Rossoneri management gave the Grifone short shrift and thus they had to turn to other targets.

As reported by Il Secolo XIX (via PianetaMilan), there was a phone call between Sampdoria and Milan, precisely because of the interest of the Blucerchiati in Kjaer.

However, Milan were not even remotely interested in entering into a negotiation and gave them a flat rejection. Furthermore, the Dane’s will is to remain with the Rossoneri, despite two clubs interested in him.

  1. No Kjaer cant leave this season. Next summer yes. We need him if Tomori gets injuried og thiaw or maybe both. Even though he lost speed he is still reliable. Kalulu is also there but the season is long rotation will be needed.

  2. Im sure Sampdoria and every other team in serie b or for that matter most teams in serie a wouldnt mind to have him in their squad in some capacity so why would simon who is the danish internatioal captain and one of the most capped players ever even consider such moves when he could join teams competing in european competitions or for that matter join a danish top team.
I always thought sampdorias owner was a funny dude and the same with napolis but come on this isnt a reliable story, must be make belief. Either way he should stay with us as a backup player that offers a lot of leadership to a young squad.

      1. Oh i see i must have missed that sale 😀 Well i was refering to the previous owner but still my points stands 😛
