CM: The figures of the deal as Milan consider snatching Atalanta star this summer

By Isak Möller -

Milan are making plans ahead of the summer transfer window and several players seem to be on their radar. Most recently, Josip Ilicic has been linked with the club, having had such a huge success at Atalanta.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri really want to strengthen the squad ahead of next season and they will sign an attacking midfielder. That is regardless of Hakan Calhanoglu’s renewal, which says a lot about their intentions.

The latest idea is Ilicic, who is liked a lot by sporting director Ricky Massara. The 33-year-old has found continuity at Ayalanta under Gian Piero Gasperini and he’s tempted to try his wings at a top club.

There are no real negotiations for the time being, as Milan have only made a few initial inquiries. It remains to be seen if Elliott Management will allow such a signing, given the age, as they have only made a few exceptions thus far (Ibra, Kjaer).

Massara, should he get the go-ahead, would like to go with a Papu Gomez-esque operation. Sevilla paid €5m plus €2m in bonuses for the winger and thus Milan would aim between €4-6m.
