When Yacine Adli was signed by AC Milan last summer, many wanted him to join the team immediately. However, he took his first steps at Milanello this summer and the start hasn’t been a walk in the park.
The French midfielder was left at Bordeauz on a season-long loan for last season, which is why Milan were able to get such a good deal (€8m paid). Despite a lot of hype, however, Adli has struggled to assert himself in the squad.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, the 22-year-old has played just 46 minutes between two league appearances this season. He wasn’t included in the Champions League squad either, even though that was more understandable given the rules.
There are mainly two reasons behind the lack of playing time, per the report: 1) Pioli is yet to find the perfect position as Adli seemingly cannot play in the midfield tandem, and not as a mezz’ala either. And 2) the competition with Brahim Diaz and Charles De Ketelaera for the No.10 role is too tough as things stand.
On the other hand, it’s clear that Adli was always going to be a signing for the future, and thus patience will also be needed in his development. When the time is right, Pioli will use him in the best way possible as we have seen with the other youngsters.

You said everything apart from the real reason, the real reason is because Pioli is a sentimental coach, even if kavarachalia was bought by Milan To play with leao, pioli will STiLl leave him on the bench for messias , the dude is too sentimental for a coach…..he is simply keeping faith with the squad that have him his first Cup and doesnt want to hurt anyone, I mean Diaz.
Everyone knows that Diaz no longer fit into this team and we all know that Milan will not spend 22m on him, even CDK is not even giving a 35m performance, so does Adli deserve a chance? YESSSSSS!!! and keeping him waiting for long cause a Madrid bound player might affect his confidence and might need time to get it back, during the plastic fans will crush him with their words.
I pity the dude though, I believe In his quality and nobody should be surprised if at the end oF the DAy this dude becomes the number 1 AMF.

I dont know what are you watching guys frankly. Adli is definitely at the moment not on the level of neither Charles nor Diaz. He is too slow and too soft. Easily pushed off the ball, bad coverage, bad at pressing. He is good on the ball and has a game vision but that is simply not enough. Diaz played well lately actually. And BTW saying that Piolli is bad at subs and sentimental is just plane BS.
Adli can manage the rhythm. He knows how to play with the ball. With him, it is easier on the pitch. Just like Pirlo
The reason is that he had a baby recently and missed the start of the season so he’s actually behind with actual match fitness and tactics even is he did play alot in pre season

Isn’t it obvious ? Adli will play more next season, this season is his adjustment process. With ACM mercato buy CDK after Adli back from loan, it’s certainly ACM will not buy Brahim Diaz. This season is Brahim’s last season with ACM, except Brahim has very good season to be considered on of the best in Italy.
