CM: Udinese ask about three counterparts in Samardzic talks – Milan’s response

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in talks with Udinese over Lazar Samardzic and they have asked about potential counterparts, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com are reporting that negotiations to bring Samardzic to Milan are in full swing and there have been significant contacts in the last few hours with Udinese, while the player has clearly expressed his desire to make the switch.

The Friulians have asked Milan if they are willing to potentially include any counterparts in the deal that would both lower the cash sum and give them a useful player in return. The three names they asked about specifically were Davide Bartesaghi, Kevin Zeroli and Lorenzo Colombo.

However, the response from Geoffrey Moncada was clear: none of the three will be included in the deal. The strongest rejection came regarding Zeroli, who Milan are banking on for the Futuro team and they believe he is a real gem for the future.

It’s a different story for Bartesaghi and Colombo because there was no agreement on the evaluations of the players with Udinese, implying that the Rossoneri directors rate them higher than their counterparts.

    1. Or just offer them Origi/Ballo and pay what they are asking! The savings on the salaries alone would be worth that €5M!

    1. If you were udinese, is that good deal for you? 2 players that will cost 7mill per year in salary and contribute damn near nothing. Idk where your logic came from

  1. If we buy Lazar neither of them is gonna get a chance anyway.. how many homegrown players we got in the starting 11?

  2. No no no. Bartesaghi and Zeroli are our gems. I really see they have big potential during Italy U19 vs N.Ireland. Just unfortunate for Bartesaghi that Theo is there. But Zeroli, it is easier for him to break into 1st team. As for Colombo, he is so far showing he is mostly reaching back-up level, so I will not be that disappointed if he is sold, although still I wanna see him got proper chance in Milan. Maybe he is a late bloomer? lol

  3. Cannot lose Bartesaghi, almost under any circumstances.

He’ll be a fine left back but s**t will get real when he is re-cast as a left-sided CB. It started late last season.

While he doesn’t have the speed to be an elite FB or even WB, the speed he does have (which is good for a CB), his physical size and strength and his defensive and tactical capability screams CB.

Glad to hear that they wont listen to offers for Zeroli.

Colombo is not a player I see with the potential to be top-line / historical-Milan-standard / big team, however you want to think about it.

  4. Bartesaghi can evolve into a new Calafiori in the near future. Let’s learn from ASRoma mistake and not giveup our talented youngsters for peanuts
