CM.it: Third Serie A team joins Milan and Inter in fight for AS Roma player

By Euan Burns -

Monza are now also very keen to sign Stephan El Shaarawy from AS Roma this summer on a free transfer after initial interest was shown by AC Milan and Inter, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.it, the Brianza have identified the Italian winger as a good and experienced player who could be a key part of their squad next season.

El Shaarawy is out of contract with Roma in the summer and no agreement has yet been reached to extend his deal, despite some good performances in the second half of the season.

The 30-year-old has played for Milan before and the Rossoneri think he could be a good depth option who can play on both wings and potentially even at full-back.

Monza CEO Adriano Galliani actually expressed interest in El Shaarawy last summer and he is now very attentive to the ongoing in both Rome and Milan.

  1. LOL. What ambitious Owners we have…forced to buy a mediocre 30 year old player like El Shawarry…could it be because we have no $$ and he is FREE????🤔🤔🤔

  2. We’re supposed to be looking forward and instead we got rearview goggles on. But some fans seem to think this bringing him back is a good idea…..

      1. He wants to stay in Rome. He’s 30. He’s average. He’s predictable. He’s a former player and we all know it never works out for former players. He’s be taking the place of a better younger player. I could go on….

  3. he once scored 16 goals in 6 months. never loved the circumstances under which he left us… but at 30yrs, maybe as a backup player he can still contribute.. he still has a bad ass spin on his shots and quite an impressive work rate for a 30yr old. pirlo was 32 or so when he went to juve to pick up 3 scudetti in a row.

  4. I would say if we can sign el shaarawy on a fairly short deal like two or three years and we can persuade traore signing a long term contract as the club recently actvated an option to extend his contract untilll 2024 then i think it could be good in the sense traore could slowly get integrated or loaned out. It would also help in regard of the homegrown quota in europe.
I always liked el92 and was very disapointed when he left us, he will be a fine back up as he generally guarantees a fairly decent ammount of goals and assists and it would give us some room to act in other areas of the squad.

  5. Not sure if this is real or just click bait by bored journalists but a hard pass please.
I like him, he’s a Milanista and a good guy but we need some young, talented and hungry players.
