CorSport: Fiorentina and Atalanta battle for ex-Milan player – what the Rossoneri can earn

By Euan Burns -

Fiorentina and Atalanta are both attempting to sign Marco Brescianini from Frosinone this summer which could see AC Milan collect a healthy chunk of cash.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News), the two Serie A sides are keen to sign the former Milan youth player and a clause in his contract means it will be to the Rossoneri’s benefit.

Milan opted to sell Brescianini to Frosinone on a permanent deal last summer, but they retain the right to 50% of any fee that the now-Serie B side receives for him.

Their relegation to Serie B was more in spite of Brescianini rather than because of him, and clubs in Serie A know that.

Atalanta are thought to be the favourites to win his signature at this stage, but Fiorentina are expected to meet with his agent, Beppe Riso, in the coming days.

At the moment, Frosinone are requesting €12m for him which means that Milan would be in line to get €6m. That may not be a considerable fee but it could make a big difference given the amount of business that Milan want to do this summer.

The fee that Frosinone originally paid for Brescianini was not disclosed.
