It’s no doubt that Hakan Calhanoglu has been an important element of Stefano Pioli’s system this year, finally displaying the qualities that made Milan sign him in the first place. He has stepped up, that’s for sure.
As highlighted by Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews.it), Calhanoglu is the guarantee of the Rossoneri side, increasingly decisive and central in Milan’s project. On Thursday evening, for example, he ran the show on his own (two goals, one assist).
He has made great progress since his arrival at the club, even when times were tough, but everything has come together for him. Above all, he has improved his touch and decision-making in the final third, registering a bunch of points.
The gap left by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who’s currently in isolation, has thus been filled by the Rossoneri No.10. Should he continue like this, then he could be one of the best players this season in the European top five leagues.
