CorSera: Ibrahimovic’s future at Milan unclear – Galliani will try to sign him for Monza

By Oliver Fisher -

Adriano Galliani will try and sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Monza if he does not renew his contract with AC Milan, a report claims.

The Swede secured his return to the Rossoneri back in January but his contract expires in June, and only in the case of a top four finish will an automatic renewal be triggered.

Given the uncertain futures of director duo Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini – two figures key in bringing Ibrahimovic back to Milan – there is also now speculation that the 38-year-old will move on at the end of the season.

He could of course retire, but il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive) are reporting that Galliani could try and swoop to sign Zlatan, and that the idea of him playing for Monza in fact has not yet faded.

Galliani and Berlusconi’s side look set to cruise to promotion from Serie B with a 15 point cushion on second place, so they could try and tempt Ibrahimovic with a deal longer than a year so he could have the possibility of playing in Serie A with the Lombardy side.
