Both Olivier Giroud and Lautaro Martinez face a race against time in view of the derby between AC Milan and Inter this weekend, but for different reasons.
Today’s edition of Il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) has the following headline: ‘Lautaro and Giroud: the challenge heats up on the edge of the seconds’. Six days before the game at San Siro, the two strikers are in a race against time.
The Argentine will return to Milan only 48 hours before the match against the Rossoneri given he is on international duty with Argentina. However, the notion that Simone Inzaghi will not start the league’s top scorer seems far-fetched.
Meanwhile, Giroud must recover from the ankle problem that he sustained during France’s win over Ireland on Thursday night, one which forced him off after less than half an hour and is causing a fair bit of concern given the Frenchman’s importance.
