Tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Inter, also known as the Derby Della Madonnina, should be a good one as both sides have started this season well. The Rossoneri are slightly ahead and could extend the internal lead.
As highlighted by today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), it’s a big opportunity for Milan as they would go ten points clear of Inter with a win. The Rossoneri’s goal remains the Scudetto and these games matter a lot.
It should also be noted that Milan can afford to draw this game, as it would keep the seven-point gap intact. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Stefano Pioli will be conservative with his tactics, but rather the players will be able to relax a bit more.
Unlike Inter, they can afford to leave the standings out of the calculation for one evening, and that could benefit them greatly in such a huge game.
