CorSera: Pioli wants to put Gazidis in difficulty as Milan continue to ponder Rangnick

By Oliver Fisher -

In recent months, the name of Ralf Rangnick has been strongly linked with Milan, and we reported yesterday that he will arrive at the end of the season.

According to the latest from il Corriere della Sera however (via MilanNews), there have not yet been any signatures and Elliott Management Corporation are also evaluating whether the right summer to start a new revolution, given the impact of the COVID-19 emergency.

Before making a decision, Elliott want to wait for the end of the season and get a complete picture of the situation. In the meantime Stefano Pioli continues to work and he wants to prove that he should stay at the club.

Indeed, the Emilian coach still wants to try to put Elliott and Gazidis in difficulty regarding the decisions they make, but he knows that the only weapon at his disposal is his results.

If he does not reach a European spot, he will 100% be out of the door. To do this, Pioli will rely on his loyal players such as Castillejo, Calhanoglu and Rebic, as well as the return of Ibrahimovic.

If Pioli were to somehow fight and keep his spot on the bench, it cannot be excluded that Ibrahimovic may wish to remain too and pen a new deal, given the bond between the pair.
