CorSera: Rakitic offered to AC Milan; why the Rossoneri are hesitant

By Isak Möller -

With the January window just around the corner, AC Milan are preparing to reinforce squad ahead of the second half of the season. After such a poor start, they definitely need it.

One of the departments that the Rossoneri need to strengthen is the midfield, which hasn’t lived up to expectations thus far. Franck Kessie, for example, has been very disappointing, even missing out on the Juve clash due to behavioural issues.

According to the newspaper Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews.it), Ivan Rakitic is destined to leave Barcelona already in January, as he wants more game time. The player has been offered to Milan and Inter, but the clubs shared the same feelings.

The salary of €8m per year, in addition to the transfer fee that Barcelona will demand, is just too costly. Therefore, the enthusiasm of the Rossoneri has died out a bit, per the report. It remains to be seen if a deal can be made at a lower cost.
