It’s not exactly a secret that Milan have struggled with several injuries throughout the season, forced to do without many key players many times. Two factors behind the injury crisis have been identified, a report claims.
The Rossoneri fans have been very frustrated with the injuries, just like head coach Stefano Pioli, and questions have been asked about the club’s medical staff. Is it the latter’s fault, or is it the athletic coaches fault?
In today’s edition of Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), a combination of two factors was named as the probable reason: 1) Milan have played 43 games, like no other in Italy. 2) The Rossoneri’s style of play – offensive, based on sprinting and pressing – wears out.
This is also the explanation that has been given within the club and it’s clear that something needs to be done to decrease the injuries. Perhaps, with the 2020/21 season expected to go ahead as usual (normal schedule), it will be better.
