Paolo Maldini could remain at AC Milan beyond the summer but in a slightly different role from his current one, a report claims.
Last month, we revealed via our correspondent Vito Angele that Rangnick will indeed agree a role as manager – that is the double responsibility of head coach and the man in charge of the transfer market.
Angele also told us that despite the fact Maldini has been widely tipped to leave Milan at the end of the season, Rangnick on the other hand has a different opinion on the matter.
Now, Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports how the chances of the current technical director staying are increasing, however things would change slightly regarding his role.
He would no longer be so heavily involved on the recruitment side, but instead could rather be a link between the team and the management.
Maldini, therefore, will have to make a choice: to choose to remain without as decisive a role or to leave, but he will not be fired as happened with CFO Zvonimir Boban.
