Sergio Conceicao has already decided the midfield duo he will field for AC Milan’s game against Napoli next weekend, according to a report.

In order to keep their top-four hopes alive, the Rossoneri will need to come away with all three points against the Partenopei. It won’t be easy, but Antonio Conte’s men haven’t exactly been brilliant in the last few weeks (just one win in the last seven games).

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Conceicao has already given the starting eleven some thought, expected to field Warren Bondon and Youssouf Fofana from start in midfield. Yunus Musah is suspended and will thus miss out, making the choice a little bit easier for the manager.

Bondo played from start against Como as well and it must be said that he has impressed. Fofana, meanwhile, came off the bench in that game and received a lot of praise, with fans questioning why he has been used so little lately.

As for the rest of the eleven, a lot will depend on the status of the players who will return from international duty next week. That being said, it’s not exactly a game to rest some of the stars as Milan really need the three points.

    1. Right.
It’s not like Bondo has been a Milan player only for a month and a half, and it’s not like he was injured for a month out of that month and a half.
Yeah, Conceicao took so long to figure out that he should start Fofana and Bondo together.

  1. Against Napoli you need a beefed up midfield. I would say 3 players plus Reijnders in advanced position. Play the same way you did against Real/inter – sit deep and counter with speed. Start with Santi/Abraham and Puli up front. Second half bring in Leao and let him run at them with speed.

Conte will control the midfield even with his depleted quilted roster.
