CorSport: Ibra, Bennacer, Kjaer and Gabbia – the latest updates on Milan’s injured stars

By Oliver Fisher -

There are currently a number of AC Milan players in the treatment room, and an update on their condition has arrived.

As il Corriere dello Sport reports (via MilanLive), there are four muscle injuries at Milan currently, and among these only one seems to be able to return to the group shortly.

This is Simon Kjaer, who suffered a problem at the beginning of December against Celtic but could be available for Benevento-Milan on January 3rd. But a lot will depend on the first post-Christmas training sessions.

It will take a few more days for Isamel Bennacer as the Algerian is working to recover from a hamstring injury, but he could very well return against Juventus at San Siro.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not play against Juve. He himself has made it known that the calf injury is not to be underestimated, so his target is to return in mid-January, perhaps for the match in Cagliari on 18 January.

Matteo Gabbia meanwhile will take a few more weeks to recover from a problem with the collateral ligament of his knee, so he should return between late January and early February.
