CorSport: Italy national team and PSG potential destinations for Maldini

By Euan Burns -

Former AC Milan defender and director Paolo Maldini could find a new job with either the Italian national team or Paris Saint-Germain, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Maldini is open to taking a new job soon after he was dismissed from his role at Milan as technical director.

He was dismissed along with sporting director Frederic Massara, seemingly for the previous poor transfer window and disagreements over the direction of the club.

He could be in line to play a very similar role with Italy or with PSG in the future. If he were to join Italy, he would be taking the role of Gianluca Vialli, who recently sadly passed away.

If he were to go to PSG, he wants assurances that he will have distance in his role from Luis Campos and is able to construct the team based on his own ideas.

  1. Taking his ego down to PSG again, he said

“he wants assurances thay he will have distance in his role from Luis Campos and is able to construct the team based on his own ideas”

Why not buy your own football team and do all these?

    1. How do you know, that he said this? Do you have, any interview of him saying that? This is an article, by CS not Maldini’s own words!

  2. Does anyone else find it funny how the media were talking about a 35 million euro budget for this Window while Maldini was here, and therefore linked all sorts of cheap players to Milan while we have spent more than that already?
For me, more than anything, that is a sign of media making things up to get people to read their news. In reality, we have no idea how much was made available to him and who he actually had planned to buy.
Anyway, like I’ve said before, we will find out if firing him was the right decision based on our results once season starts. However, he is an absolute legend and any so called “Milan fan” should be grateful to him wherever he goes.
