CorSport: Jovic agrees to renew Milan contract despite multiple offers – the latest

Luka Jovic is set to remain at AC Milan despite the rumours that surfaced in recent weeks, having now given his go-ahead for the renewal. According to a report, the striker was tempted by certain offers but ultimately decided to stay.

The Serbian striker arrived on deadline day last summer and although the expectations were low, it ended up being a positive season for him. After a slower finale to the campaign, he finished with nine goals and – unfortunately – only just missed out on double digits.

According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), seeing as the current deal will expire at the end of the month, several clubs made offers for Jovic. However, after careful consideration of his options, the striker has now given the go-ahead for the renewal with the Rossoneri.

It’s believed that it will be another one-year deal, which seemingly is the best solution for all parties involved. It remains to be seen if Milan consider the former Real Madrid man as the deputy striker or a third choice, but it seems likely that he will be the main deputy next season.

Milan have also been linked with Armando Broja of Chelsea, but the renewal with Jovic perhaps means such a move is unlikely.

  1. I told you guys Acmilan doesn’t need a striker we have jovic and Okafor this men are dangerous and Good only that our problem is that Geroud is not in form and Pioli was using him that’s why we find it difficult to score but Our two striker are Good especially Okafor very dangerous and solid now what we need is to sign two attacking midfield and a winger that will serve as leao deputy then sell tomori to out and use bartasaghi or Gabbia to play tomori centre back then partner with kalulu then we sign Emerson royal to replace Calabria retain Theo Hernandez then allow simic to join the senior team

    1. What are you even talking about? We lost a key striker in Giroud. Giroud still had 15 goals last season.

Jovic and Okafor alone are NOT enough. Okafor still has many fitness issues. What we need is a key striker. Not a winger. Out of every position, winger is covered.

If Zirkzee is the guy, we need to sign him.

      1. @Goku, Giroud played almost every Milan games for last season full time, and scored 15goals. Okafor played few games and scored 6goals. What do you think would happen when Okafor is given the kind opportunity Giroud enjoyed?

  2. Since most clubs have figured out Leao, now would be a good time to experiment with him upfront and play Okafor on the left. Het another unproven striker in and use him and Jovic as the backup. It might give us a different solution for the fact that teams double-up on Leao these days making him less effective these days. And maybe it will compensate for his inability to drop back and defend if he is a striker. Just a thought, sometimes the solutions are starring us in the face. We don’t want another season with Okafor playing a bit part role, he might be tried in the striker role similarly as Leao. The two of them could alternate between striker and wing play.

  3. The most obvious signing finally gets done. Proven super sub, willing to continue being one, and no transfer fee. Should’ve been done immediately but finally taken care of. Now sign dovbyk, fofana, and Buongiorno.

  4. So Origi, Jovic and Noah would be the strikers for next season? While an already strong Real Madrid are signing the likes of Mbappe? Smh

  5. I think Jovic averaged something like a goal per 130′. If he can avoid punching people in the face next season, he can be a solid deputy again.
