CorSport: Milan boss Pioli makes decision on the left wing spot ahead of trip to face Napoli

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is likely to select Ante Rebic over Rafael Leao on the left wing for Sunday’s trip to face Napoli, a report claims.

Although Pioli won’t make the journey with the squad given that he has tested positive for Coronavirus, he will still oversee the game via the use of technology and will obviously still name the starting line-up.

As newspaper il Corriere dello Sport reports today (via PianetaMilan), Pioli is likely to insert Rebic into the starting XI for the game against Gennaro Gattuso’s side. The Croatian has fully recovered from the elbow dislocation he sustained back on September 27 but was not called up for his national team.

The former Eintracht Frankfurt winger instead stayed at Milanello to train and return to a top athletic condition. Meanwhile, Rafael Leao has instead returned from commitments with Portugal’s U21 side and should therefore start the game on the bench, given that Rebic is fresher.
