AC Milan have reached an agreement with Club Brugge for the transfer of Charles De Ketelaere after several weeks of negotiating. €35m was needed to convince the Belgian side and there are still some signings to make.
De Ketelaere will bolster Milan’s attacking trio and the feeling is that he will be a starter immediately on Stefano Pioli’s side. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will now be able to focus on other departments on the mercato, mainly the defence and the midfield.
The Rossoneri want to bring in a centre-back before the window closes and also a central midfielder, amid the exits of Alessio Romagnoli and Franck Kessie. As per Corriere Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), they have €15m left of their budget.
That money could be used to sign someone like Renato Sanches, while a player like Japhet Tanganga could arrive on loan with an option to buy. Milan would thus postpone the payment and be able to bring in both despite having around €15m left.
Does CorSport have short term memory? Conveniently forgetting transfer money was spent for Florenzi and Messias.
Before anyone mentioning money from Hauge’s transfer, I’d like to remind that Hauge deal was already done few weeks before the transfer budget was calculated by Elliot.

In my opinion don’t bother for a midfielder and I’m quite confident we won’t go for a midfielder. We’ll go for Tanganga on a loan with option/obligation with an initial of 5 mil and then with the remaining 10M they’ll spend it on Ziyech either spending it to buy him outright which is what Chelsea reportedly want if not use the 10M for an initial of a loan with option/obligation for Ziyech
I won’t bother about RW, CDK’s heat map show that he rarely present at the center, most of the time he were on the flanks. I think he is more of winger or inside forward rather than AM.

If Ziyech (or similar) would come, I’d say we did a helluva job in this mercato to improve the quality of the squad. Especially with the budget given.
Smart people can do miracles with 50M€ transfer budget. Many clubs do stellar job with even less money.
I’m actually happy that it looks like this season Milan might FINALLY break even. If that were they case we could soon forget about the FFP issues we’ve been dealing with as that would prove we’re on the right path.

I don’t think Sanchez will come unless it’s on a team friendly deal. Supposedly PSG are only willing to offer 10M and I seriously doubt Milan’s offer or the offer M&M are considering is any higher. Plus I don’t think M&M are willing to sign him to a big contract with Bennacer still up for renewal. Bennacer isn’t signing because I believe he wants guarantees about his playing time. If Sanchez comes in that may jeopardize Bennacer’s renewal.

There’s no denying that Elliott are stingy when it comes to spending and rightfully so but being the shrewd businessmen that they are, I’m sure they understand what needs to be done so that they can continue to profit from their investment. This understanding was made clear with the renewals of M&M, who wouldn’t have renewed if the ownership’s plans didn’t give clear guarantees regarding the continued success of the club. So what I’m basically saying is; even if it’s true that it’s only $50m, and they have to extend beyond the $50m to get what they need, then that’s exactly what they’ll do. Bear in mind that the squad doesn’t need many more pieces and the directors are very careful with spending, so there’s that possibility that the entire $50m ( if true) won’t be spent either.
