CorSport: Milan increasingly frustrated as Origi and Rebic reject Turkey move

By Isak Möller -

Ante Rebic is expected to leave AC Milan this summer after ending up on bad terms with head coach Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri are also hoping to offload Divock Origi, but both are playing hardball.

Both Rebic and Origi had a very disappointing 2022/23 season and Milan have made it clear that they will do everything to reinforce the squad this summer. The duo, as such, is no longer in the plans of Pioli.

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), some clubs have expressed their interest in the players, particularly Turkish ones. However, both Rebic and Origi have rejected the idea of moving to Turkey.

It remains to be seen what the outcome will be, therefore, as Milan really are keen on offloading both before the end of the summer. There have been some rumours suggesting that Origi could move to Saudi Arabia, but there is nothing concrete on that front yet.

  1. If anyone saw the pulisic clips in training youd see Origi seems to be keeping up with his standard at Milan, he missed an open goal tap in

  2. Maybe pioli can tell him if he’s no longer part of the plan. But dunno if it’s gonna work or they will wait for next season

    1. He’s doing what he did at Liverpool, sit on the bench and get money, the man only scored 22 league goals during his 8 years at Liverpool. Which says alot, I really don’t know why we even brought him in.

      1. Signing origi instead of Dybala is honestly the most baffling decision I can remember.
        1 a world class forward
The other a perennial bench warmer

        1. It was actually signing Origi instead of Kolo Muani.
M&M got blood on their hands for that. We could have signed the striker of our present and future on a free transfer. He is worth 80 mil now, while Origi isn’t worth 8 mil

      2. and people here claimed he finally got his chance and now will score 10+ goals for us and be important in the champions league

oh how they were so gullible

  3. Why will they leave, you think they are Tonali or what that you can force them out, you most spend the money that you are not willing on those two then 😛😛😛

  4. Pay off their contracts and let them leave. Milan was willing to let much more valued players leave for free in the last couple of years. Just move on from these guys.

    1. “Pay off their contracts and let them leave.”

Doesn’t make sense. You’d end up paying at least the amount you’d pay if they stayed and played. At least by not paying them for leaving you can still you them as a prop at trainings. No need to use the plastic wall when practicing free-kicks when you can use Origi & co. instead.

  5. Origi can be used as 3rd striker while colombo as 2nd striker . That will make ACM save budget from buying taremi. For rebic , keeping him only ruin dressing room , he clash with pioli last season and pioli dont want to play him anymore , it will be complicated if rebic reject all offer from suitor club

    1. No thanks. Team needs a new starting CF. Giroud should rotate for some league games or come off the bench. I rather keep Rebic and hope he can regain some of his form. Colombo needs another loan experience. Origi must leave even if they have to terminate his contract.

  6. That’s the kind of situation when you miss a real mafioso boss like Berlusconi. He would know how to deal with scoundrels like those svckers.

  7. Thats cute. Rebić tied till 2025 and Lord O tied till 2026.
I dont even mind Lord O staying, he can be an example as how not to be 😀
But Rebić gotta go, i like the dude and its unfortunate he lost his Mojo, but if he clashed with the coach once he will again and thats not good for the team

  8. Milan can do to them as As Roma to Zaniolo.
Management should be very fast in these situations.

But still we don’t know story. What will happen in transfer window. And club might use them as final back up….

  9. Rebic is a strange and unpredictable guy in private! He was expelled from the Croatian national team because of similar problems that are now apparently happening in Milan as well! In the last few seasons, he had his good moments, but if he spoils the atmosphere in the team, the management should react resolutely.

  10. Put apart both of them, don’t even let them train, stay at home a lose they pace and wiling to play…. And after that they will come into some sense and will leave alone without anybody say a thing. Lessons needs to be placed for others that want to do the same, if not we will be the clowns of the teams that allows this kind of behaviors

    1. Remember? During the past two years Bakayoko, just collected fat cheques while sitting on the bench? Given that both Rebic and Origi, aren’t regulars in their national team, i don’t think they have any motivation left! They wouldn’t mind sitting, on the bench and collection fat cheques!

  11. Wow, Moncada and boytoy Furrlani are sure doing a great job.

I kinda wish we had someone as talented as Maldini in that role so we don’t sign American rejects to replace Euro starters like Tonali.

They can’t even sell the rejects that Maldini was also forced to deal with.

  12. First I hope we can sell certain players: Rebic Origi Messias Pobega Gabbia etc…to generate more cash for better more productive players. We will see if it happens or not

However I find it comical how contradictory ppl are on this forum. In one breath they get upset when a player leaves for greater riches elsewhere calling him “greedy” and “disloyal” to the club and not a true “Milanista”. Ok fine so when a player decides to stay and honor their contract and prove themselves and want to be Milanisti those same fans say to get out and call them “greedy” for staying????? LOLOLOLO

Well which one is it? Cannot be both. Unless that is your a hypocrite that is.

Just as it’s a team/owners right to sell a player – it is the players right to decide to stay and honor their contract. That’s the essence of a contract. BOTH parties have to agree.

Sure I also want certain unproductive players to leave, and replace them with players that hopefully would – who wouldn’t – but doesn’t work like that. Like Bakayoko they can chose to stay and if they sit the bench and are fine with that then so be it. Perhaps Origi and Rebic are just being “loyal” to the club wanting to stay and wanting to be “Milanisti”??? Perhaps they just don’t want to take a pay cut to move elsewhere like Baka would have had to. Hopefully any player that’s stays will contribute.

But don’t be a hypocrite (like @Boulden) and bitch about a player being “greedy” and not a true “Milanista” (Tonali) for leaving then in the same breath call those players that stay and honor their contracts and prove their worth “greedy”. How much of a real Donkey are you kid???

  13. don’t know why people thought origi was going to be good. His whole reputation is built on a single goal but unlike someone like aguero who was consistent and always scoring clutch goals that was an anomaly.
