CorSport: Milan await offers as Fenerbahce express interest in duo

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are expected to part ways with quite a few players this summer, with Divock Origi and Ante Rebic being two of them. They seemingly have a suitor in Turkey, but no offers have arrived.

Origi arrived on a free transfer last summer but failed to impress, struggling with injuries and also getting just two goals. Ante Rebic’s goal tally was almost the same (three goals) and he was even excluded from the squad towards the end due to poor behaviour.

According to today’s edition of Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Fenerbahce have expressed their interest in the duo. Milan are now waiting for offers, having already come to terms with that they might not be high.

It’s worth mentioning that Milan are very serious in their pursuit of Arda Guler, the Fenerbahce star. It’s possible that Rebic and/or Origi could be sent the other way to lower the €17.5m fee, which is the cost of the 18-year-old’s release clause.

  1. I know I’m clutching at straws here but…

If fenerbache really interested in these two, just offload them as part-exchange for Guler, even slightly undervalue them. It ticks so many boxes, we probably save on wages net, and improves the squad.

However I bet we ask for something totally unrealistic like €15mn each rebic and origi, such that Fenerbahce laugh and walk away.

  2. So only one striker we have at the moment in Giroud. And I can bet Colombo should be second? Selling Rebic and Origi in 15 million in combined would make a lot of space for one excellent signing. Problem is , who?

For Tonali sale we need to find excellent midfielder and excellent right midfielder.

With Rebic and Origi Milan must gain some fee…

    1. At this point they just need to get rid of them to cut their wages off the books. Need to take what little amount comes in for the pair. If not, just cut them free. Terrible business for sure, but one that saves millions in wages. 4mil for Origi alone…. Jesus!

  3. Every PL pundit warned about how rubbish Origi was, why did we ever go for him, I really want to believe that M&M knew what they were doing but some of decisions made were bizarre.

We all overlook the fact that if we still had Paqueta and Suso we would have done a lot better last season and we would have had strength in depth.

Then there is rejecting Dybala and bringing in CDK as the main man

    Bringing Wrankx to be Kessie

Just bizarre, could this be a result of creating the tier system in management, having one person buying the players and another coaching and putting the team out.

All successful managers are very hands on buying players. Would Pep, Klopp and Conte let another decide the transfer targets and who they signed.

We need to really look at this as we have a great base upon which we could really build something special and get to CL semis and finals and properly challenge for Seria A
