CorSport: Parma have agreement with Milan but defender wants Villarreal return

By Isak Möller -

Milan will be looking to offload a few players before the January transfer window closes, having already parted ways with Leo Duarte and Andrea Conti. Mateo Musacchio could be the next, but the situation is tough.

The Argentine defender is under contract with the Rossoneri until this summer, when he will leave the club. Currently earning €2m per year, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara would save €1.6m gross if they let him go this month.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb), Milan already have an agreement in principle with Parma over the transfer. However, Musacchio is yet to decide on his future and he seems happy to see out his contract.

The 30-year-old is fascinated by a move to Parma but above all, he would like to return to Villarreal in the summer and perhaps end his career there. The window is still open and he might decide to leave, but no decision has been taken yet.
