CorSport: Pioli pondering a change in attack for the game against Monza

Stefano Pioli is thinking about freshening up the attacking department in view of the game against Monza, according to a report.

As reported by the Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), training is back underway at Milanello and preparations for the game against Monza on Saturday night have begun, meaning Pioli is thinking of the starting XI he will field.

There is a doubt in particular regarding the centre-forward position, and the battle is between Olivier Giroud – who has started every game for Milan since the third match of the season – and Ante Rebic, who had an excellent impact in the match against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi on Sunday.

It may be therefore that Pioli decides to let Giroud catch his breath ahead of the crucial upcoming Champions League games and relies on Rebic, who started the first game of the campaign against Udinese as the striker and netted a match-winning brace.

  1. Giroud is a class act ..he has had some unfair criticism. He is vital to AC Milan’s chance of winning the scuddeto again …He is one of the best centre forwards any where ..For a big man he has great skill and technical ability ,and able to also use his sheer strength to hold up the ball to allow others in the game .Yes he has missed a couple of chances that he should have perhaps scored …He will come good again and will score more goals that last season ..it’s not just about his goals but Milan are a better team when he plays ..Write this man off at your own peril .
Just remember that without him last season we would not have won the scuddeto..Pioli trusts him and so do I …so keep believing we can win the scuddeto again , but we will need Olivier Giroud..
