CorSport: Rabiot talks alive as Milan table hefty offer – what needs to happen

By Isak Möller -

Adrien Rabiot continues to be linked with a move to AC Milan and although the transfer window has closed, he can still join as he’s currently a free agent. According to a report, a new offer was tabled yesterday but a sale is needed first.

The midfield has been a big talking point among Milan fans this summer and while the signing of Youssouf Fofana helps, more would be welcomed. As such, which we were first to reveal yesterday, a new contract offer was put on the table for Rabiot.

This was also confirmed by today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, stating that Milan first tabled the new offer (€5m per year plus bonuses) yesterday and then had additional talks in the evening. Since he’s a free agent, there is no imminent rush to get the deal over the line.

However, for squad rules reasons, Milan need to part ways with one player in order to sign Rabiot. Luka Jovic is the main suspect and as was reported earlier today, he still has suitors in leagues that have extended transfer window deadlines.

Therefore, while it’s far from certain at the moment, Rabiot’s move to Milan is indeed possible and the coming days will be decisive.

        1. Lmao bro did not even pick up a tiny bit of the sarcasm. Bro will say there is nothing funny about the sarcasm. Typical people these days, easily triggered, cannot chill even for a minute.

The waiting game again? Maybe it would be nice for once to have a complete squad before the beginning of the competitions. Time is money I guess.

  2. Who do we bench for him? Natural answer is Ruben, but rabiot is as much an AM as Ruebn is..
I don’t think Milan will break the wage structure for him anyway.. just more pr bs

    1. Oh, not to mention we bought 3 midfielders last summer amd evidently all of them have been a poor buy..since we need to sign more midfielders and bench those bought a year ago.

      1. Give it 5 minutes and all jerry’s and ibrahimovic’s funboys and balls lickers will try to prove you how wrong u are and how those signings were actually a steal

    2. They already break the wage structure with abraham’s 6m for one year
In addition to the player’s price tag, Abraham’s high wages are also holding back the negotiations with other clubs. The Englishman earns €4.5 million a year plus €1.5 million bonuses that are quite easy to achieve.

  3. Well if you can pay 4,5+1,5 mil sallary for a year of abraham, then you can for sure offer a 1 year contract with the same sallary to rabio and buy urself a time to sign a cheaper player next year

  4. Rabiot has the exact characteristics that we miss. The big question for me is still if he has enough hunger. If he will only play at 80% of capacity, we do not need him.

  5. What are they waiting for!!!!!????? We have Inter and Liverpool upcoming games. If they got him before he would have been very useful, with his experience!

  6. I think we should get him. He will be right at home with our players. Imagine if we pulled a reverse Pirlo on Juve. Give a short term 1 to 2 year contract with option to extend.
