CorSport: Romagnoli has heart set on Lazio move after rejecting two clubs

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli is expected to leave AC Milan at the end of this month as his contract will expire. Lazio have expressed their interest and the centre-back is keen on joining his boyhood club, a report claims.

Milan made an offer to their captain but it was considered too low and the 27-year-old is now expected to join Lazio. Given that it’s a free transfer, the Biancocelesti will be able to offer a salary similar (or perhaps higher) to that of Milan’s offer.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Lazio are indeed in pole position as Romagnoli has rejected the approaches of Monza and Fiorentina. He only wants the Rome-based club and it seems next week could be decisive for the agreement.

With Romagnoli leaving, Milan need to appoint a new captain and given that he was the vice-captain this past season, Davide Calabria is expected to be named the one. Theo Hernandez will most likely become the vice-captain.
