AC Milan secured their third consecutive win and also their third consecutive 1-0 result last night, beating Cagliari away from home. Although they missed chances, Alessandro Costacurta believes they impressed a lot.
As Inter dropped points against Fiorentina just before, Milan were under a bit of pressure to claim all three points, also because Napoli won their game. Thanks to a wonderful volley strike from Ismael Bennacer, they won.
It could and perhaps should have been more than one goal for Milan, though, as they had several dangerous chances in the game. Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Costacurta said he was impressed but also named one thing they must improve.
“Milan, apart from the risk towards the end of the game, played a very very good match. They created a lot against an aggressive team,” he stated. That risk, of course, was the result of them not converting their chances.
Milan will take on Bologna after the international break and Napoli will face Atalanta, which should make for an interesting round. Furthermore, Inter have what now probably is a must-win against Juventus. A lot could be decided then, therefore.
