Costacurta praises Milan and Pioli: “They don’t surprise me anymore”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have started the season very well and only once in their history have they done as well, back in 1954/55, when they also collected 28 points after 10 games. Understandably, they have been praised a lot.

On Sunday evening, as they will face Roma away from home, the Rossoneri could set a new record as they only need a win or a draw to do so. Back in 1954/55, they lost the 11th game and that also happened to be against Roma (2-1 loss).

Regardless of the result this weekend, Milan can be very pleased with their start in the league. Unlike last season, they have been strong both home and away, which is a good sign of the progress this team has made.

Speaking to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Milan legend Billy Costacurta spoke about the recent performances. He stated that the success doesn’t surprise him anymore, praising Pioli and the team.

“Pioli’s team doesn’t surprise me: hats off for this extraordinary start to the season. In my eyes, however, I also have the disappointing away games in the Champions League. This Milan may be enough in Italy, but not in Europe. At least for now,” he stated.
