Relevo: Davies ‘clear about his desire’ to join Real Madrid – why Milan must act

As January approaches, clubs can begin to negotiate pre-contracts with players whose contracts expire, and AC Milan will have to keep tabs on one situation in particular.

The left-back market was a big topic in the summer for Milan and other big European clubs as Alphonso Davies’ situation at Bayern Munich looked to be coming to a close. However, it did not end as expected.

Instead of a move to Real Madrid involving a fee, the Canadian defender stayed in Bavaria. As Relevo report, the left-back was frustrated by the following talks with the German giants about a new contract, so with his deal expiring in the summer of 2025, he will be free to speak to other clubs.

With this, the report suggests he is ‘clear about his desire’ and a move to Madrid is ‘practically done’. So this means Los Blancos will end their pursuit of Theo Hernandez, with it being stated that the Spanish club are ‘no longer looking’.

Unfortunately, that is not the end of the Theo saga. Instead, it is likely that Bayern will probably return to the table to speak about the Frenchman, given they no longer have a world-class left-back, and for this reason, the Rossoneri will have to speed up their negotiations with Hernandez.

Reports have already suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada are focusing on his renewal among others, but the news of Davies’ decision could make the club focus on that deal before others all things considered.

  1. So either Davies was going to extend at Bayern and Madrid was going to come for Theo, or Davies was going to go to Madrid and Bayern would come for Theo. Nothing has changed. Theo was going to be sought by a club with more spending power. Why have we waited until now to renew? It’s always the same with this club. Wait wait wait and then nothing and then the player is suddenly on his last year. Then the final F-k you happens when the club refuses to sell even at a cut rate (or the player refuses to leave) and then the player walks for free when the contract is up. So much money has been left on the table this way over the last 4-5 seasons. It should be a fireable offense for whoever is responsible.

  2. He is leaving after this season anyway. I don’t know why is it so hard to understand. It is not a money thing. Simple this Milan right now is garbage. He lost his motivation, he is clearly demonstrating from game to game.
