Sky: Theo Hernandez renewal remains Milan’s ‘thorniest’ case – he wants €9m per year

There are various conflicting updates continuing to come in regarding Theo Hernandez’s renewal, and the latest on is from Sky.

Theo has been at Milan since 2019 which means he has done over half a decade with the Rossoneri. He has renewed his contract once already until the summer of 2026, and that means he has less than two years to run on his deal, and the renewal issues has thus come to the fore.

Sky report that Milan are working on the renewals of Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders calmly and with a certain confidence. The objective is to close both negotiations as soon as possible and in a positive way.

However, Theo’s situation remains the ‘thorniest’. The Frenchman has asked for a salary double what he currently earns, which is €4.5m net per season and therefore a demand of €9m per year.

Milan are willing to partially satisfy the player, but guaranteeing him double what he currently earns would drastically alter a series of parameters established related to the salary ceiling.

On the Theo front ‘there is still a lot of work to do’, the report concluded. It is certainly something more in line with what Calciomercato.com reported earlier today, but less optimistic than La Gazzetta dello Sport’s claims.

  1. Sell him for a discount to PSG. They have always wanted him. He is one of those players who is always looking for a reason to get upset and act like a victim.

  2. I would take this not with a grain of salt but a mountain. Media has been wrong about every single amount during every single negotiations, even when there were no negotiations.

One thing is for certain, only ones that know numbers are player, his agent and the club. media is just speculating and being sensationalistic for clicks and engagement.

Ignore all of it and wait for official statement about renewal.

      1. Oh all seeing oracle, I would call upon your endless wisdom and godlike fortunetelling to grant your humble servant a small token of your humungusness. Please oh gigantic one, I am in need of winning lottery numbers in the text 3 to 5 years.

  3. Not a freaking chance. Bye Theo. Good luck finding another big club that will put up with your terrible, selfish attitude and complete lack of effort defensively. Maybe some dumb Saudi club with money to burn.

    1. I think now he still have good price, o yhink better to sell him caused his price is good or become new cases like Donnaruma m Kessie, Milan didn’t get anything

  4. I wouldn’t mind him being the top paid player, still think he is easily our best player. A bad spell only is only that, a small blip in time. He shouldn’t be Milan’s captain but he should be our best paid player or on parity.

  5. Milan is in Pole position.

If Fonseca drops off from champions league, Milan must sell players. Almost all players who are currently on loan plus at least one star.
Who would that star be ?

I would bet on Theo. Milan would “save” on his wage and also could have good capital gain.

Now question is how much would some clubs offered for him in his last year contract ?
Maybe 35 million to 50 max.

  6. That what we used to say about Mike. “8mil?! Don’t her the door hit you “. And now we’re like “renew Mike!”

    Don’t believe media.

    1. That’s because Mike realized that goalkeeper salaries have dropped and he’s not going to get anywhere close to Donnarumma’s €12.7million a year salary.
Maybe Theo will eventually come to the same realization

      1. Well app Theo agent was instructed by him to look for clubs in the beginning of this season, while he is a fantastic player no team was serious in signing him, most clubs closed their doors to high transfers for various reasons

  7. If we gonna talk about prime theo and what he realy can do without sabotaging the team he definitely deserves at least 8+ ,if we gonna talk about theo right now while he sabotagining the whole team he doesnt deserve nor 1 mil

  8. €9m is way too much, Rodri is on €11m Gross per year. If it is true there’s no way. Nobody is going to offer him that in any of the Top 5 leagues. Not with his attitude. As he has a little bit of Balotelli in him.

  9. Sell him at the end of the season and get Kerkez back before other “big guns” get him.He is playing regulary and really good in the Premier League, was in the the team of the week last week.

As the best left back in the history Maldini himself bought Theo and Kerkez,Theo developed to a Top 5 left back in the world and i belive Kerkez has it all to be one of the best left backs in few years .I am sure he would answer the call if Ibra called him,get him back before other Premier League clubs buy him.

    1. Our scouting department has no idea of the player you’re talking about it’s never going to happen, they’ll try sign marcelo before they go for him

  10. I think now he still have good price, o yhink better to sell him caused his price is good or become new cases like Donnaruma m Kessie, Milan didn’t get anything

  11. It’s understandable players like Theo want to be part of a winning project and get paid top money as players in his calibre are. And he won’t get this here so cannot really blame him if he wants out.

  12. What rise and what extension of his contract ? In this moment and for a year so, he doesn’t deserve his current wage and we think about a rise ? 😆 His low attitude and his rendiment is so average. In my opinion Theo…you must pack your bags and go elsewhere. We want players more involved, hungrier, ambitious with constant rendimement not just few good games per season. Bye and thanks…
