AC Milan have made an inquiry about Inter defender Stefan de Vrij, whose contract with the Nerazzuri will expire at the end of the season. However, the Dutchman is poised to join Premier League side Newcastle.
Stefano Pioli and his men have been struggling defensively at the start of this year. Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori, who were super solid in the Scudetto season, have been making silly mistakes and Milan are evaluating the situation. Especially since Simon Kjaer isn’t getting any younger.
According to DAZN, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have enquired about the future of Inter defender de Vrij. His contract with the club will expire in the summer and he’s not expected to renew, but he likely won’t make the ‘forbidden move’ either. In fact, he immediately rejected out of respect for his current club.
Instead, Newcastle are in pole position to land the centre-back, per the report, as they have made an important contract offer that de Vrij is inclined to accept. Milan will have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcement, in other words.
We don’t need him
We have our own garbage, we don’t need Merda’s too.
